Scarecrow Display Contest Rules and Guidelines
1) Open to any individual or group building a scarecrow for a charity or non-profit of their choice. Anyone can be the builder/sponsor but ALL proceeds from the contest must go to the non-profit.
2) Create your display using fun and unique materials, let your imagination work. It must be able to withstand the weather for 6 weeks. It must not have a larger base than 4’ X8’. You may use a plywood base, steel posts or any other materials to stabilize your display. It must contain at least one scarecrow and your scarecrow may be of a "person, animal, or other creature". 3) It must be appropriate for all age groups. Pumpkinville has the right to refuse any scarecrow that is inappropriate in any way. 4) Bring your scarecrow to Pumpkinville on Saturday, September 19 or 20 and either set it up or assemble it at the farm. 5) Please feel free to check on your scarecrow and make repairs any time. 6) Pass the word to all your friends and contacts to come out and "vote" for your submission. Each "vote" is $1.00. Each submission will have their own receptacle for the vote money with a picture of their submission and information about the group. All "voting" money donated will go to the designated non-profit or charity. 7) We will auction off the scarecrows on Saturday, October 24 at noon and they may be picked up immediately. All proceeds from the auction go to the designated charities. Any scarecrows not picked up by November 7 become the property of Pumpkinville. 8) A Pumpkinville panel will add to the prize money of our first three picks. An additional $50.00, $30.00 and $20.00 will be awarded.
